AWA Foundation...The AWA Foundation was organized by the Association of Women Attorneys 
in January 1991 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. 
The AWA is 30-year old association that seeks to help women advance in law school 
and in their law practice, and then to provide continuing support throughout their legal careers. 
The sole goal of the AWA Foundation is to provide six annual scholarships 
to female law students in Houston's three law schools. 

On 23 January 1991, pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, 
the AWA executed the original AWA Foundation Trust Agreement. 
The Trust agreement was amended on 23 July 1991 and again on ??? 1994 and ??? 1999. 

Currently, the Trust is administered by eleven Trustees, serving two year terms. 
The Chair is chosen by the Board of the Association of Women Attorneys.
